After parking and then walking a good 600m down a steep path we arrived at the site and began to climb to explore the Chateau. Part ruins and part restored, the visit is a fascinating one with good signage and lots to see. However, this is a visit for the fit and active and I struggled! If you have babies or are elderly then perhaps this is not the choice for you, but older children and teenagers will enjoy it. I also have a thing about steep open staircases and narrow sloping stone steps inside the turret and felt a little overwhelmed. To see the site properly will take at least three hours. Great value for money and a beautiful, interesting setting. Good parking with toilets at the car park, cafe at the entrance to the site, well produced guidebook free to use doing the tour.
