Limeuil village, dordogne.

As the summer draws to a close and the tourists return to work and school, we are fortunate to have the Dordogne and the rivers all to ourselves. Well, except seasoned travellers who make the most of cheap deals at a time when the days are still sunny and warm, but less crowded. So we visited Limeuil to watch the kingfishers and herons and swans as we sip a beer overlooking the confluence of the Vezere and Dordogne river.

Its a pretty village to visit with gardens at the very top with outstanding views, and points of interest if you care to search for them. The glass blower is particularly interesting and keen to talk about his work. But there is nothing like sitting and watching the world go by, just like the flow of the river.
